What do “chinos” refer to in Spanish drug slang?

I find several references to “fumando chinos” in music (Fito Páez’s “Un vestido y un amor” and Manu Chao’s “Chinita”) plus in several Spanish language newspaper articles about people being held on drug charges. I can only assume that it is a reference used in Spain since Manu Chao is originally from there and the Páez song was sung about meeting his ex-wife in Madrid where he spent a lot of time in the early ‘90s.

It can mean many things: Asian men, a certain place near LA, jail, dude, etc.

What to do to prevent your children from experimenting with drugs?

I read an article in the news about a child who is now in coma, because had a heart attack and stroke after inhaling butane gas (also known as lighter fluid) and not want to happen never, to my daughter. So what I can do to make sure I never want to experiment with drugs?
